Training offer Apprenticeships and NVQ’s in Health &
Social Care level 2 and level 3, which is awarded by City
& Guilds. These programmes are designed for individuals
to develop the skills needed by the Care industry and become
an effective member of the Health and Social Care workforce.
The level 2 Apprenticeship will take 12 months to complete
and will include Key Skills in Literacy and Numeracy, a Technical
Certificate, which is delivered off the job at Fareport to
help learners understand the skills and knowledge required
to get ahead in their profession and an National Vocational
Qualification (NVQ). The NVQ is a work based portfolio of
evidence which proves learners understand the skills and knowledge
learnt from the Technical Certificate. The programme also
consists of training in Health and Safety, First Aid and Employer
Rights and Responsibilities.
A qualified Assessor will visit a learner at their workplace
during work time, which could be out of normal office hours
and at weekends. They will assist and tutor learners through
their qualification offering full support at all times.
A level 2 Apprenticeship can lead onto a level 3, and both
will help gain entry to university to pursue a nursing career
or other Health Care awards.
Learners have access to computers and the internet, can loan
a wide range of resources and work with flexible target dates
to fit around individual needs.
Care Learning and Development Apprenticeship can offer a
route for progression into Midwifrey or Nursing.
