 Name: Matt Terry
Age: 19
Qualification: Customer Service Apprenticeship
Level 2
Work Place: The Range
I achieved good grades at school nine A-C’s. I went
to college to do communications studies and music technology,
music is my hobby and I am in a band called ‘The Saddest
Day’ and gig regularly. While I was at college I got
a part time job at The Range to earn some cash. When I left
college I started working full time in the furniture department.
I serve customers and have a lot of interaction, as the customers
relay on me to give them good sound advice, as some of the
furniture they purchase is quite expensive. Other duties I
carry out include ordering items of furniture; I help design
the layout of the shop floor, deal with any complaints and
resolve any issues or problems.
I think the Apprenticeship is a good thing to do and I enjoy
it, the maths is challenging, it takes me back to my school
days, its strange how much you forget if you don’t implement
it all the time, however, with my Assessors help, I soon remembered.
I have achieved my Technical Certificate and I am now working
towards my NVQ, which is all relating to my day to day duties.
When my Assessor visits she will go through my coursework.
If I have any problems, she will explain until I understand.
I can contact my Assessor at anytime and she will always offer
me full support.
My goal is to work towards retail management or to join the
Police Force. I have always been interested in the Police;
I would like to have an authoritative, challenging role to
play within my career.
I would definitely recommend doing an Apprenticeship through
Fareport, its rewarding and great fun and it’s a great
qualification to add to your CV.
